Land Acknowledgement

The Spanier Group acknowledges that we are on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnaabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.

We recognize that reconciliation is not a single act or statement, but an ongoing process that requires listening, learning and meaningful action. The Spanier Group is actively working to educate our team on the history of Indigenous experiences in Canada, engage with Indigenous partners in a spirit of collaboration and respect and promote inclusive hiring practices that reflect the diversity of communities we serve. We understand that reconciliation is a shared responsibility and that words must be matched with action. This understanding and lens will be carried into all projects and places the Spanier Group has a hand in creating.
